USB Ethernet for Series 2 TiVo

Add Ethernet to your Series 2 TiVo's!  Since the Series 2 does not have a slot for a TurboNET, you can use a USB to Ethernet Adapter to hook your TiVo to your network.

You will need a DHCP server running on your network, like the one that the Linksys router provides, and you must set the dialing prefix to ",#401" (without the quotes and this is entered with Pause Enter 4 0 1).

Since the Series 2 TiVo's have built in drivers, you do not need to install any additional software to get updates over the internet.

Series 2 DirecTiVo's will not work without modifications to the TiVo software to enable the USB ports.  Search on the www.dealdatabase.com Forums.

Patch Cables

Don't forget the patch cables!  You will need a patch cable to connect the USB Adapter to your Ethernet hub or switch.  Boots and cable are Gray in color.
