What's Here

  HR10-250 TiVo Bracket

This is what you get in the TiVo Mounting Bracket Kit:
(1) Mounting Plate
(1) Linkage Arm
(4) Blue Rubber Grommets
(4) Metal standoffs
(5) Machine Screws 1/2" long with Lock-Washers
(6) Machine Screws 1/4" long with Lock-Washers
(4) Plastic Washers 1/16" thick
(1) #6 Lock Nut
(3) #6 Flat Washers
(3) C-Clips
(1) Plastic hex internally threaded spacer (not used)

Caution:  The power supply is not enclosed and can shock you if touched.  Do not touch it, unless of course, you want to be shocked!

This is a picture of the bottom of a HR10-250.  You will be putting a #6 x 1/4" long screw thru the hole that is circled in red.

Place a C-Clip under the motherboard under the hole that is between the power
supply and the existing hard drive.  Tighten the #6 x 1/4" long screw from the bottom of the TiVo into the C-Clip.  Note that the C-Clip does NOT sit on the motherboard but rather on the bottom of the Tivo case.

Next we will be putting standoffs on the side of the TiVo.  The two red circles above show where the standoffs will be positioned.  Counting from the front of the TiVo, you will put a standoff in holes 3 and 12 on the outside row of square holes.

Put a #6 x 1/4" long screw with a washer thru the #3 and #12 outside holes from the bottom of the TiVo and tighten the screws into the C-Clip in each position.  Position the C-Clips as shown.

Press the plastic clip that holds the two cables together over to the left.  It may help to first untwist the clip, push it over and then twist it back closed.

Next, install the linkage arm to the mounting plate.  Put a #6 x 1/2" long screw first thru the mounting plate and then thru the Round Hole in the linkage arm.  The linkage arm goes under the mounting plate.  The linkage arm is attached to either of the small holes that are closer to the larger holes.

Thread a #6 Locknut on the #6 x 1/2" long screw and tighten with a wrench.  Position the linkage as shown.  This screw should be snug.

Lay the assembled Mounting Plate with Linkage Arm on the C-Clips to make sure that the holes in the C-Clips on the edge of the TiVo line up with the holes in the Mounting Plate.  If they do not, you can loosen the C-Clips from the bottom and slide them around until everything lines up.  Make sure to tighten the C-Clips if you loosen them.  Adjust the Linkage Arm attached to the Mounting Plate so the hole in the Linkage Arm lines up with the hole in the C-Clip that is mounted near the middle of the TiVo next to the power supply.  Don't touch the power supply!

Next, install the Blue Grommets in the Mounting Plate.  A small screwdriver can be of help.  Then position the Mounting Plate over the hard drive as shown, lining up the Grommets with the screw holes in the hard drive.  Note that the IDE and power connections on the hard drive above are to the left.

Line up the center of the Grommets with the screw holes in the hard drive.  Then put a Metal Spacer in each of the Grommets.  Next put a Plastic Washer over a #6 x 1/2" Screw and screw into the hard drive in each of the Blue Grommets.  Snug up all Screws.

Now for final assembly!  Press the two cables down, moving the plastic clip that holds them together to the side.  Line up the two holes in the C-Clips that you installed at the edge of the TiVo and secure with two #6 x 1/4" long Screws.

Insert a #6 x 1/4" long Screw in the hole in the Linkage Arm near the power supply.  Snug up all of the Screws.

And the installed hard drive will look like this

Note:  You may find that you have a couple extra screws or other parts left over.  Don't worry, this is normal.  We use the same hardware kit for other brackets that mount differently.
